Purple Glitters Spring Challenge #3 Fruit and Dots

hello dear readers,

Hi again! I managed to do my third challenge. I am having alot of fun with this. I am using polishes that I haven't used, and trying out new techniques

.I have always admired other's nail art,but I haven't been much of a nail artist. I did try stamping for awhile, and have had varied results.

Challenge 3 is Fruit and Dots
Colors I used are yellow and green.

On to todays manicure,fruiticure,dotticure,etc....LOL!

I used Sally Hansen Xtremewear in Green With Envy for my base.
Then I applied some fruit fimo slices that appeared to be lemons to my nails. Then later I noticed they look more like oranges,oh well. I also used a dotting tool to apply some random white dots on a couple of nails.

The dots were tricky.I couldn't get myself to make my hand sit still long enough for them to dry,so there are very few,and alot of cleanup where they failed. But I do like the way the fimo's turned out.Other than that,my overall feeling is that it is a fuggly mani. But I am not ashamed to show it to you.I actually think it looks kind of funny because the fimo slices look like they've been baked to a crispy crunch in the sun,and the photos were also taken in the sunlight.

So this is the only good shot I got.

Ok so what do you think? Is it funny-looking? If you are amused that's fine, because I prefer that you laugh rather than cry. What do you think of my fruiticure?

Purple Glitters Spring Challenge #2-Flowers and Stripes

Hello dear readers.

First I must apologize for the lateness of this nail art post. I had a major fail during the week,it was so yucky that I had to pass,so I emailed Mateja of Purple Glitters blog to let her know I would do it but it might be late. Well, here it is,and I have to say I am pretty pleased with the results of this challenge.

For this one I chose to do Flowers and Stripes.
The colors I chose are pink and green.

I used a Soulstice Spa nail color, called Kauai, for my base, with is a rich pink color.

I did the nail art on my thumb first as an experiment to see what I would want the rest of my nails to look like.I can always exclude my thumb if it doesn't turn out right. (How many of us nail bloggers don't show our thumbs in pics?) :-)

Then I took my white Art Club nail art striper and did a couple of stripes on each nail. I did the stripes on my ring and pinky first, and then when I got to my index finger,I changed direction.I found it easier to do the striper on the ring and pinky in the opposite direction as the index. After that I applied the green fimo flowers from a little nail art wheel I got at my local discount beauty supply store.I've had this nail art wheel for some time now,so it seemed like the perfect occasion to play with some fimo slices!

I also used some random mini flowers that came in some nail art kit that I can't recall.

This is the complete mani. You can see where I also used a green striper on the thumb, but I felt the color was too Christmasy,so I didn't use it on the rest of my nails.

this is my favorite photo of all of the ones I took.

I hope you all liked it. Thank you to all the ladies participating in the Spring Challenge for being so patient with me! I have another treat for you coming up,as I have been working on number three on my other hand,LOL!

As always, check out the other ladies doing the challenge,on the upper right hand side of my page.

Thank you so much for reading!

10th Week!

Hello dear readers,

Today it is time for my 10th week update of the ASK Cosmetics Bare Naked Nail Challenge!

this is my left hand nails.

Right hand.
Rignt hand again! I am loving the length!

And my left hand. I am liking the length too!

I have one thing I want to say here. I was asked by one of my lovely readers,if I would recommend the use of the ASK Cosmetics T.I.P.S. product. My answer: Yes,absolutely! I recommend it,because I have seen results.Real and visible results! I love this product, and I intend to keep using it as a part of my regular nail care routine!

Now,my nails are not as long yet as I would like them to be. I would like them to be as long as Painted Lady Fingers I have been reading her blog since 2009,and I used to show photos of her nail art to my husband and say,oh I wish my nails were that long!

I am well on my way. At this point I do believe sincerely that my nails are drop-dead gorgeous! That is what Lisa Mueller promised, and that is what I have now! I still can't stop staring at my nails! I absolutely love the way they look!

Thank you so much for reading.

Would you like a little glitter with that jelly?

Hello dear readers:

This is what happens when you rarely wear nail polish over a 10 week period. Sooner or later, you cave. Especially when you look at this, this , this, and this one which really threw me over the edge of sanity!

If you look at those links, you'll see,I had a bad case of the jelly sammich cravings!

                                                             this is the beginning :-)

                                                                         The middle

                                                                            And the end!

It didn't turn out quite as jellyish as I would have liked it,but then what can you do when after the first two coats of jelly, glitter, jelly, glitter, you just go nuts with the glitter, and start slappin coat after coat of glitter, and well the end result as you can see, doesn't really look like a jelly sammich but an overload of glitter, not so bad I guess, but I will need more practice, and try not to get so excited,as I layer each coat of polish!

Here are some pics of the polishes I used:
China Glaze Material Girl,a pink glitter from the Eye Candy collection,
OPI Barre My Soul from the recently released NYC Ballet collection.

Sally Hansen Gem Crush in Lady Luck, which is a fuschia base with holographic glitter.

One of the Wet n' Wild Ice Baby glitters,Back Alley Deals

Last but not least OPI Pirouette My Whistle, again, another shade from the NYC Ballet collection.

I hope that was slightly entertaining for you ladies.

Thank you so much for reading.

Life & Love

Okay,so I am back again with another post today. I have been polishing my nails, and working on something that I feel turned into a hot mess. However, since I am participating in the Spring Challenge started by Mateja over at Purple Glitters , I felt obligated to go ahead and post it. I haven't every done a sponge mani before, and so this my first attempt at this form of nail art. I wanted to do something fancier. Maybe next time.I jumped on this challenge a little late,so I do still have four more days to come up with something a bit more creative.

I used Claire's Mini pastels set,the blue and purple pastel polishes, and after applying  a base coat,I sponged the two colors on with an eye makeup brush. I tried first with a paper towel, but I wasn't getting the result I wanted, and I looked  all over the place for a sponge, but couldn't find any,so the makeup brush worked out great.I actually liked working with the eyeshadow brush because I felt I had more control over where the polish went. So this is my blue and purple manicure for the Love and Life part of the challenge. Also when I was thinking about the challenge last night, and what I would do with it,I thought automatically of U2 and the song One. So I've decided to share the song with you, embedded below in this post. Happy Saturday to you all,and thank you to all the new followers who've jumped onto my blog recently.

P.S. I've made a list of everyone participating in the challenge, with their blog links on the right hand side of my page. I've already had a chance to peek at some of the ladies manis for today and you should go check them out too.

Weekly update: And I'm off to the races, lol!

Hello dear readers,

Today I am sharing with you the photos of my nails at the end of week 10 of the ASK Cosmetics Bare Naked Nails Challenge. If you have just started reading my blog within the past week or so I will give you a little info about the challenge. 50 ladies were asked to try some nail care products from ASK Cosmetics Inc.,in the hopes of improving the overall condition of their cuticles and nails. Here is a photo of the products I used during the challenge.
I used the round bottle of T.I.P.S for Toes from February through the end of last week. Yes it is for Toes. Why? Because my nails were in such horrible condition, that they needed as much conditioning as possible. There is a contour nail file, the ASK Revival Skin Conditioning Milk, and the ASK Revival hand and nail cleanser. The file is especially contoured for sealing the nail plate, and is recommended to seal the nail plate after cutting the nail back.It is not recommended to use an ordinary nail file with a grit,so to speak. These were the products that were provided to us in order to bring our nails back into shape and hopefully come out with drop-dead gorgeous nails!

this is what my nails looked like before the challenge.

My nails had been severely damaged by my own misuse of press/glue-on nails. I had also used acrylics before that. (I don't have any problem with others using press/glue-on nails or any other type of artificials like gels or acrylics) I have just not had good experiences with those products.

The challenge required that we at least go naked nails for the first two weeks, however,I felt that it was in my best interest to go naked for full 10 weeks. In preparation for the challenge,I did not polish my nails for the better part of January, even though I did not start using the product until February.

I did slip up and polish my nails after the third week.I also did polish my nails this week too, however, for the most part I have gone naked.

So back to the purpose of this post, which is to show you my nails after the 10th week of the challenge.

                                                                    My right hand

                                                                                 my left

As you can see from the before photo, and the current photos, there is an incredibly dramatic difference in the way my nails look now. I am very happy with the ASK products for nails. I love my nails now. I love them so much,I can just stare at them, because I love to see the white part of the nail. To me,my nails are the prettiest they have ever been in my entire life.

Thank you for reading.

Reviva Labs Botanical Formula Eye Complex Firming Cream

Hello dear readers!

Today I have for you a review of Reviva Labs Botanical Formula Eye Complex Firming Cream.

First, information about the firming cream.

For undereye shadows, bags, and crows feet. This delicate eye area cream contains an herbal complex for firming ,plant extracts to improve circulation and vegetable oils to aid dryness. It's light, easily applied and quickly absorbed.

Directions: Eye complex cream is so light it may be used day and night. Apply with finger in a light tapping movement from outer corner of eye to nose.

Ingredients: Water,Glycerin,Sorbitol,Whole Wheat Protein,Compound of (Red Vine,St. John's Wort,Arnica,Witch Hazel,Horse Chestnut,Ivy) Wheat Germ Oil,Sweet Almond Oil,Calendula Oil,Carbomer 934,Castor Oil,Cornflower Extract,Potassium Sorbate,Sodium Benzoate,Citric Acid,Fragrance.

Easy to spread
Helps diminish under-eye bags
Calms puffiness
Helps fade wrinkles by gently lifting and firming
Helps stimulate circulation and expel wastes which may cause under-eye shadows

my review:

I used this cream in along with the RevitalEyes Eye Serum. I used it first only before going to bed at night, but then for some reason,I liked it so much,I started applying in the morning too! I like the results I received from using it,mainly the diminishing of crows feet around the outer corners of my eyelids. They do seem to be less prominent to me. The cream was very easy to spread, and did also help to calm puffiness, which I had on occasion.

I would certainly buy this product as well. I've found that very little is needed, and as I've used it for three months now, there is still half a jar left!

For more information about the cream featured in this post please visit www.revivalabs.com

Reviva Labs RevitalEyes Eyelid Serum

Hello dear readers!

I haven't been in the habit of reviewing skin care products on my blog, however, when RevivaLabs contacted me,and asked me if I would like to try a couple of their products and review them,I decided to go ahead and do it.Today I will be reviewing the new RevitalEyes Eyelid Serum.

First, some information about RevitalEyes Eyelid Serum.

Without proper treatment, eyelids and undereye areas are especially vulnerable to sagging and drooping. Now,Reviva Labs has created a concentrated serum specifically for the eyelid areas both upper eyelid(under brow),and lower eyelid(over eye). It has the ideal texture for eyelid care, the area often mistreated by creams. Eyelids can look smoother, firmer, and brighter!

Non-irritating light serum!
Excellent for undereyes too!
Brightening complex ads in lightening of dark areas around the eyes.

Directions: For upper eyelid, lift brow with fingers of opposite hand and with serum fingertip lightly spread serum under the brow.

For lower eyelid, apply serum with gentle finger-tapping movements from outer corner of eye to inner corner. This product can be used both morning and at bedtime.

Ingredients: Demineralized Spring Water,Mulberry Extract,DMAE Bitartrate,Palmitoyl Tripeptide-3,Lime Extract,Bitter Orange Extract,Hesperidin Compound,Extract Complex (Hops,Rosemary,Horsetail,Pine,and Lemon), Hyaluronic Acid,Glycerin (Veg.), Hydroxyethylcellulose,Potassium Sorbate,Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid.

And now for my review:

I started using the serum sometime in the middle of January, and there is still half of the bottle left.I would venture to guess that this bottle will last another three months,so it is alot of product for the price point. I recently checked the website www.revivalabs.com ,and this item is currently at the sale price of $23.

I've used it as directed,at bedtime, and in the morning before I apply my eye makeup.

First of all,I love the way this serum feels when you apply it to the eyelid area. It is full of moisture and there is no tugging or pulling of eye area whatsoever, while using it. I also feel very much like my eyelid is being pampered in a way that no other eye serums or creams I've used.

I am not in the habit of wearing eye makeup as often as I used to,however, when I did go to apply my eyeshadow,I was completely amazed at the change in my whole eyelid, both upper and lower. I had a fold on my left eyelid, and also started to notice wrinkles on my inner eyelids.

So after using RevitalEyes Eyelid Serum,I can truly say that this serum did change the appearance of my eyelid. The fold on my left eyelid is not as prominent. The inner eyelid wrinkles, too, have receded.

The verdict:

I love it.I will continue to use it,and when this bottle is gone, you can bet that I will be purchasing another bottle. This is an eyelid serum, that has been bumped up to the A-list of my skincare routine!

There will be a forthcoming review of the Botanical Formula Eye Complex Firming Cream.

For more information about RevitalEyes Eye Serum visit www.revivalabs.com

Warning: Naked Nails Ahead! Weekly Update!

Man,the T.I.P.S. solution is what I want to call "amazeballs"! It's somewhat of a polish adjective that we polish lovers use to describe an awesome polish, polish combo,or franken that one of our fellow bloggers has created.

I don't think you can tell much change between last week and this weeks growth,so to speak, however,I am glad that my nails are still there,i.e.,they haven't chipped or broken off.

Um,yeah,so I'm 49 and I have nice nails for the first time in my whole entire life! Yeah,I call that AMAZEBALLS!

I am not one to brag, and this post may seem like I am tooting my horn, however, I do have to brag a whole lot about T.I.P.S. and am very grateful to have been given the opportunity to participate in the ASK Cosmetics Bare Naked Nail Challenge this year. I hear now that Lisa is asking for participants for the Beach- Ready Toe Nail Challenge. Here is the link if you're interested Get Your Toes Ready for Summer

Lastly,a look at my near empty bottle of T.I.P.S. for Toes, which I used faithfully two to three times a day for eight weeks on my cuticles and nails. I just have four more weeks to go,ladies and gents. So excited! I am filled with wild anticipation of finally breaking out some polishes to swatch, and creating some jelly sandwiches,a manicure that I've been incredibly obssessed with lately.

thanks for reading and I hope all of you are enjoying a beautiful and happy Easter holiday!
