Galaxy Nails

Hello again,

Today I want to feature the nails I did for Nail Art Monday in the Polish-aholics Anonymous group that I have belonged to for awhile now. Every week there is a new nail art theme. I also used a tutorial for this nail art. You might want to check it out here It was very simple and fairly easy to do,although doing it for the first time it was fun, however, I am not exactly pleased with the results. I am going to show it to you anyway, and you decide what you think of it.

First I applied my base coat, then applied two coats of Sally Hansen Xtremewear polish in Black Out. I then mattified it with China Glaze Matte Magic. After that, I took some Milani holographic polishes in purple, gold, and blue, and sponged them randomly with a paper towel on to each nail. After that I added Cover Girl City Lights Sparkle TopCoat and then added some holographic stars from the ColorClub Carnaval nail art kit,and some silver stars from the Pretty Shiny Things also from Color Club. I added the silver stars to my middle finger only.

Here is the photo of the result. I hope you enjoy.

Until next time!

Dr's Remedy Enriched Instant Cover Review

Hello dear readers,

I cannot tell you how happy I am to be back to regular blogging again! I am so glad that the month of August is finally coming to an end. It was a difficult month for me.

Anyway, today I had the pleasure of trying a new product called Dr.'s Remedy Enriched Instant Cover,a water resistant goof-and-fool proof way to perfect less than stellar skin tone situations, like spider veins, and sun spots.

When I first read the press release for this product I did not know that it was not intended for use on the face.I was so looking forward to trying it as an under-eye concealer and maybe doing a makeup post to boot. However, it does say on the back of the tube "Not recommended for use on the face." Sooo! I had to come up with another avenue to demonstrate this product. I have no spider veins, however, I sometimes have altercations with my coffee table. So the little bruise on my knee came in handy for this review.

This is what the tube looks like, with a handy applicator sponge. I had just had my morning shower, and my skin was already clean and dry. This is to be applied to the affected area, and then you are supposed to wait ten minutes for the cream to completely set before dressing.

And here is the photo after application. As you can see the bruise is no longer visible.

I chose to review this product in the light skin tone category, however, I don't really believe it is really light enough for my skin. I would belong in a much lighter category. To my eye you can see where the coverage begins and ends. As you can tell I am a bit pale skinned.

Enriched Instant Cover, like the nail polishes, also from Dr.'s Remedy, also contains good-for-your-skin ingredients such as tea tree oil, lavender, vitamins C and E,and wheat protein.

Dr.'s Remedy Enriched Instant Cover is available in Light,Medium, and Deep shades for $40 online at http://www.remedynails.com/ or by calling 1-877-323-NAIL. You can also find more information regarding Dr.'s Remedy Enriched Instant Cover and nail polishes by liking them here on their Facebook page.

(Dr.'s Remedy Enriched Instant Cover was provided to me for review, please read my disclosure policy for more information.)

Dr.'s Remedy Hot,hot shades for Summer swatches and review

Self Defense against the toxic chemicals found in traditional nail polishes.

Dr.'s Remedy Enriched Nail Polish...

Is a fairly new nail polish on the block,3-free and enriched with tea tree oil, garlic bulb extract, wheat protein, and Vitamins C and E.
Podiatrist developed for the healthy, beautiful nails that you want!

The first polish I tried from this wonderful brand is called Tranquil Tangerine. I immediately fell in love with this color. I used two coats for opacity on this one. Tranquil Tangerine is a golden orange-colored polish. I don't normally like orange as a rule, however, the shimmer of gold in this one,is what drew me in. It is so beautiful. It reminds me of Zoya's Tanzy, but without the glitter.

this is Glee Gold. I found it to be very sheer even after two coats, however, I love a good layering polish, and this is one I think will be good for layering.

this is Lovely Lavender, a perfect gray-purple. It has just the right amount of gray in it for it to be wearable for me. I did two coats with this one,the formula is excellent, and I can definitely see myself wearing this during the autumnal season.

And now for my absolute favorite of the bunch,Bold Baby Blue. This says alot, since I am not a big blue nail polish fan. Most blues do not look nice on me.This is two coats, and it's a medium baby blue with a silver shimmer. After wearing it for a couple of days,I suddenly remembered what the color reminded me of,the Alaska state flower, the Forget-Me-Not.

And lastly the least favorite of the bunch,Nurture Nude Pink. I was really disappointed with this polish. I tried twice to get good swatches of it,but on both occasions it came out streaky. I used three coats, and still was streaky and not opaque, and did not even out, even with a topcoat. It is sad, because if you have been reading my blog for long, you know I love nude polishes. Still you can see the pink in it. That is evident in the photo.

Overall, these are great polishes. All of them were two coaters for me,although for those of you with more active length nails, three coats would work better. The formulation is also great.

Dr.'s Remedy polishes come in 26 different shades, including top coat and base coat, and are available online at http://www.remedynails.com/

(These polishes were sent to me for review.)

Taking a blogging break

Yeah, I know,I've only been blogging since the end of March. It's not really blog burnout. I did really have a problem with one of my nails, but now that it's healed, some personal stuff has come up and I don't really want to talk about it here. Just to let you know that I am not slacking, just decided it's time for me to sit back, and concentrate on some other areas of my life that need attention.

I have going through my blogroll on a daily basis, and intend to continue to do so. I enjoy commenting on all of my favorite bloggers, even if I haven't put anything up to show you all.

I hope you won't forget me. I don't know how long this blogging break will last, maybe another week or so,not sure. I just need some things to settle down in my personal life before I can think about posting.

Please keep me in your prayers, send positive thoughts, etc. My husband has been a little ill. He usually doesn't stay ill for very long,so he really needs some prayer and good thoughts too. I said I didn't wanna talk about it,ok,well there it is.

Thank you all for your lovely comments and for continuing to follow.

I know I will be back soon.
